Event Details​

 

Unity Health Toronto Trainee & Research Associate Satellite Event promises to be an excellent opportunity for trainees to engage in tissue repair, regeneration, and fibrosis research, to present your own work, and to gain insights from scientific leaders in organ repair and fibrosis. As part of the symposium, we are offering the following opportunities:

1. Trainee & Research Associate Poster Presentation and Award: Unity Health Toronto Trainees and Research Associates are encouraged to submit abstracts to present their research to a diverse audience of peers and international professionals in the field. All selected presenters will receive an award to acknowledge their hard work and innovation. See abstraction submission guidelines and instructions below. Please note that abstracts are restricted to Unity Health Toronto trainees, external abstract submissions will not be accepted.

2. Workshop: From Lab to Leadership – Scientists Insights: Attend our exclusive workshop featuring a panel discussion to gain valuable insights from experts and develop leadership skills that will propel your career forward.

This symposium and its accompanying events will provide a rich environment for learning, networking, and professional growth. Your participation would greatly enrich the discussions and collaborations we aim to foster.

Abstract Submission

​

All Unity Health Toronto graduate trainees (MSc, PhD), Postdoctoral Researchers and Research Associates are invited to submit an abstract for consideration for a poster presentation. Please note abstracts are restricted to Unity Health Toronto trainees only, external abstract submissions will not be accepted.

​

Space is limited, we encourage interested trainees to submit their abstracts early.​

  • Deadline for Abstract Submission: August 16, 2024

  • You will be notified if you are selected for a poster presentation

Please note that if you would like to attend the Keen-On Healing Fibrosis Symposium, you will also need to register for the event.  Kindly use this link to register.

Please submit your abstract using the form provided in the email sent to you after selecting "Yes" to the question, "Are you a Unity Health Toronto Trainee or Research Associate interested in presenting a poster?" during registration. Ensure your submission is completed by the deadline. Detailed submission instructions are provided below.

Abstract Submission Instructions

The deadline to submit an abstract is August 16, 2024, at 23:59 PM EST. Late abstracts will not be considered. Space is limited.

 

Please READ & FOLLOW the instructions below to submit your abstract:

  1. Please follow the next naming format for your abstract: Abstract-Submission-for-KOHFS-FirstName-LastName.

  2. The word limit of the abstract is 300 words, excluding the title, and authors with affiliation. You will be disqualified if your abstract exceeds the word limit.

  3. The presenter should be the first author. The presenter can be a co-author on another abstract.

  4. The Principal Investigator of the research project must be an active SMH LKSKI or SMH KRCBS Scientist or Investigator and must agree with the submission.

  5. Abstract can describe research that is either completed or in progress but submissions must include the following elements: Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions (each component to be described, but the abstract structure is left to the applicant’s discretion).

  6. Figures and tables are not permitted.

  7. References are not required.

  8. Please also indicate the type of research and the research area.

  9. Please use the form provided in the email sent to you after selecting "Yes" to the question, "Are you a Unity Health Toronto Trainee or Research Associate interested in presenting a poster?" during registration to submit your abstract. We will confirm your submission by emailing you back upon receiving your abstract. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please reach out to us.

  10. No changes will be permitted to your abstract after submission.

 

The selection committee will select abstracts for a poster presentation. You will be notified if your abstract is selected to be presented during the event.
